When I have this problem, its 99% indicative of a DNS problem. When you're attempting to telnet in, your coLinux box is attempting to reverse-lookup your IP address for logging purposes. But, of course, since it can't reach the DNS server (for whatever reason), it times-out trying to resolve the IP. The solution, if you can't get DNS working on your coLinux box, is to put the host you're telnetting from in your /etc/hosts file on your coLinux box. This usually works.
