Hi, I'm having trouble imaging Linux machines using Clonezilla. I'm hoping that someone here can help; here is the situation: (1) Environment I've installed Clonezilla on our internal PXE server with an NFS-backed root filesystem. I have a test laptop with Fedora 11 preinstalled which I am using for testing. Although Clonezilla is not currently configured to fetch images over HTTP, I have also tested hosting the squashfs image over http and come up with identical results. (2) Setup I boot the test laptop using PXE and am presented with the Clonezilla greeting screen. I select the following options: "Don't touch keymap" --> Start_Clonezilla --> device-image --> nfs_server --> [input NFS server DNS name] --> [input NFS export] --> press Enter to continue (7.5TB are free) --> Beginner --> savedisk --> select name ("mike" in case it matters) --> choose "sda" --> proceed through final verification screens, pressing Enter or typing "y" where asked (3) Failure It backs up the boot partition, then moves on to sda2 which contains LVM. It prints out "Parsing LVM layout" followed by "Parsing logical volumes" and finally "Saving the VG config" at which point the console freezes and will not respond to signals (^Z, ^C). The good folks in #fedora on freenode confirmed that Fedora 11 uses LVM2 (since it clearly states on the Clonezilla website that LVM1 is unsupported). I have also tested this exact same procedure with VMWare and saw an identical failure. I tested with both of the following archives: clonezilla-live-1.2.2-26.zip clonezilla-live-1.2.2-30.zip I'm not sure what could be going wrong here. Thanks, Mike |
