Yeah, after I sent it, I thought a table would be nice. For the record, here it is. The Host column is where I ran the test. The Target column is the machine I wanted to connect to. I used "localhost" when connecting to the same machine. The others used the machine name. (But that shouldn't matter.) patched clisp running (socket:socket-connect 12345 "target" :timeout 0) Host Target sol10 sol8 linux sol10 E T T sol8 T E T Unpatched: Host Target sol10 sol8 linux sol10 E T T sol8 T E T Where T means socket-connect returned a socket. E means ECONNREFUSED. Basically connecting to localhost failed everywhere. Connecting to other hosts works. Even non-existent machines works ok (with both versions). Sorry, I'm too lazy to build 2 versions of clisp on the linux box to run the test. Ray |
