Several major infrastructure changes have been made recently. GNU libiconv and GNU gettext are not distributed with CLISP anymore. This means that if you are on a GNU system (both Linux- or Hurd- based) and you use glibc 2.2 or better, than you will be using the glibc iconv. otherwise, if you want to use iconv-based encodings, you will need to download and install (non necessarily system-wide!) GNU libiconv (ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/libiconv/). note that the most important encodings are built-in (see doc/impnotes.html for details), so this does not hamper most people's use of UNICODE. CLISP pot files are not in src/po instead of src/gettext/po. Please update your CVS sandboxes and do a clean build and report the results. The build should take less time now since libiconv is not built every time CLISP is configured.
