Reference data for classical cryptographic analysis is now available from http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=86325&package_id=111504

This data includes a large sample of english text, as well as a large english word list. The text and word lists can be used to create statistical summaries such as digrams and other n-grams.

Thanks to a lot of work from Alexander Griffing, ciphertool will now install and run on Windows. A nice binary installer is available in the download area. The installer currently installs into c:\tcl\lib, so make sure that you already have Tcl installed in that location. Tcl for windows is available from http://www.activestate.com/Products/ActiveTcl/
