I got to have chromium use UDP for sending huge loss-insensitive data such as the geometry, and correct ill effects (see www.acl.lanl.gov/cviz02/Talks/12_Thibault/chromium.pdf and ccviz02-chromium.ppt), but getting to a read multicast system (or broadcast on a LAN) is much more difficult and involves rewriting much of tilesortspu's flushing stuff. I already had to tinker with it to have two streams. But this is possible to my mind. I won't have time to do it in near future, but why not later... About your precise application, my udp/tcp/ip implementation won't be helpful as such: I decided not to send lists via UDP, since I considered they are sent once at initialization, and then only used. But one might use a safe multicast algorithm to do it, I'll have a look (and this is one of my school work at the moment, so... :) ) Regards, Samuel Thibault |
