Arrrg. Again... Oks, now Microsoft.mshtml.dll is distributed with the application, that should work. Try the version 1.6.2.
If this don't work, search "Microsoft Office PIA XXXX download" with Google (where XXXX is your favorite version of office: 2003, 2010, etc) and install it.
Well, I try new version 1.62, the same result.
I have windows 7 with all updates, with installed HTML Help Workshop, and I really dont't understand why I should obtained Microsoft.mshtml from somewhere if my system fully updated?
I don't use microsoft office at all. I do use Softmaker Office instead of.

Sorry for the delay. There was a trouble with the distributed mshtml. The version 1.6.3 has the right one. I have tested the application with a clean new windows 7 and now it works.
BUT, if you don't have MS Word installed, you will cannot generate the CHM from a word file. If you use other word processors, you will need to save your document to HTML (if you can) and then use this application with that HTML file.
After long period of developing new version is come !
But it was dissapointed me at once it start. It was unable to compile .chm file !

I do generate the help project. It was generated as well.
I try with and without generatind the help project, the result the same.
