I am OK with your plan, though I'm worried about loosing the test suites. We have put a lot into the test suites, and it seems like porting them will be pretty hard. I've also noticed that Emacs dev breaks CEDET tests semi-regularly so they would benefit from them. If Emacs core is ok adopting the wide range of tests even though many predate the latest Emacs testing infrastructure, then we should be in good shape. I rely pretty deeply on the test suite, particularly since it is much easier to just hit 'make' to validate parser changes than to pull a fresh parser back into a running emacs. Unsure how the Emacs group would like having new targets just for testing CEDET. Eric |
