Clearly clanlib is using Automake for it's build harness. The name of the project, or of some sub-project, appears to be unbound. I'm not sure how this can happen. Are there any earlier errors in your *Message* buffer like this when opening your first file in that project? Doing this: M-x toggle-debug-on-error RET before loading in your first file would provide a nice stack. Do any directories in clanlib contain spaces or non-ascii chars?
