Hello, basically I just want to copy a Music CD from my ATAPI CD Rom to my SCSI Writer. But cdrdao is givinig me Problems. I looked on sourceforge, newsgroups, Internet ..... but havent found any hint of what could be the problem - in short right now I ran out of any idea and desperate. Here is the Probelm - i tried it on two different machines. cdrdao works fine if I use it with my SCSI Writer (TEAC R55S) and my SCSI Cards Advansys and AMD Chipset. But if i try to read from my ATAPI Drive it gives me Problems. I enabled SCSI Simulation and it seems to work fine. I disabeld ide-cdrom drivers and cdrecord/cdrdao recognize my ATAPI CDROM DRIVES MACHINE 1: ATAPI Drive TEAC CD-532E Rev: 1.0A Debian Gnu Linux i386 Kernel 2.2.18 and 2.2.20 (doesnt make a difference) The drive is recognized by the Kernel: scsi0 : SCSI host adapter emulation for IDE ATAPI devices scsi : 1 host. Vendor: TEAC Model: CD-532E Rev: 1.0A Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 If I enter cdrdao read-toc --device 0,0,0 AA I get: Cdrdao version 1.1.3 - (C) Andreas Mueller <mu...@da...> SCSI interface library - (C) Joerg Schilling L-EC encoding library - (C) Heiko Eissfeldt Paranoia DAE library - (C) Monty 0,0,0: TEAC CD-532E Rev: 1.0A Using driver: Generic SCSI-3/MMC - Version 1.0 (data) (options 0x0003) Reading toc data... INTERNAL ERROR: Found bogus toc data (no lead-out entry in raw data). Please report! o.k. I downloaded version 1.1.5 - same command: Cdrdao version 1.1.5 - (C) Andreas Mueller <an...@da...> SCSI interface library - (C) Joerg Schilling L-EC encoding library - (C) Heiko Eissfeldt Paranoia DAE library - (C) Monty Check http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html#dt for current driver tables. Using libscg version 'schily-0.5' 0,0,0: TEAC CD-532E Rev: 1.0A Illegal instruction But as mentioned the SCSI Sim seems to work - even cdrdao recognizes the drive (scanbus) Cdrdao version 1.1.3 - (C) Andreas Mueller <mu...@da...> SCSI interface library - (C) Joerg Schilling L-EC encoding library - (C) Heiko Eissfeldt Paranoia DAE library - (C) Monty 0,0,0: TEAC, CD-532E, 1.0A MACHINE 2: ATAPI Drive HITACHI Model: CDR-8335 Rev: 0008 Debian Gnu Linux i386 Kernel 2.2.18 and 2.2.20 (doesnt make a difference) The drive is again recognized by the Kernel: scsi0 : SCSI host adapter emulation for IDE ATAPI devices scsi : 1 host. I tried a lot of things - different Kernel Parameters - ide-scsi as module, in kernel, different cdrdao versions, different kernels, different machines - right now I have no more ideas. Has anyone an idea what the problem here is ??????? I'm greatful for any hint. Further questions don't hesitate to mail.
