This goes to c.l.l at 14:30 GMT. Speak now, or forever hold your peace. ----cut here---- [ cCLan News is a semi-regular update of news and updated packages for the Comprehensive Common Lisp Archive Network. It is currently posted to comp.lang.lisp and to ccl...@li... ] * This issue: ** Infrastructure ** Currently debated ** New/updated packages * Infrastructure cCLan now has a web site, bug tracker, archive mirror and mailing lists at Sourceforge (http://cclan.sourceforge.net/). The bug tracker can be used for any bugs, enhancement requests or wishlist suggestions for infrastructure or included packages: bug reports will be fed upstream to original package maintainers if they look like upstream bugs. The mailing lists are ccl...@li... for general discussion and ccl...@li... for announcements. Please subscribe to either or both if you're interested. The mirror at ftp.linux.org.uk is now also operational. All of these mirrors are apt-gettable archives for Debian users. If you'd like to provide another mirror, see the instructions on the Sourceforge page at http://cclan.sourceforge.net/ * Currently debated There are several more-or-less active threads on the cclan-list ... ** Other packaging systems Craig Brozefsky's "CCLAN Host Standard" and forthcoming related specifications decouple the various bits of Common Lisp Controller so that relevant parts of it can be supported in environments where the whole of it is not applicable. This is a first step to, among other things, supporting more package systems than Debian, and adding "user-specific" packages to the system ** Inline documentation A proposal was made for 'Python-like' inline documentation in modules, using a primarily plain-text format with certain conventions that can be turned into reasonably pleasant HTML or other output formats. We can always use help with tools and words on this one ** CVS directories in packages Should packages include the CVS directories so that sources can be updated directly from upstream? The debate goes on (mostly on the cliki page) * New/updated packages in archive cl-binary-types_0.76-1.dsc New upstream version, plus documentation changes cl-db-sockets_0.43.dsc New to cCLan - BSD socket API glue for CMUCL and SBCL clocc-metering_19940125-5.dsc SBCL-related fixes and inclusion of documentation. clocc-port_0.1-20010609.dsc Included upstream bug fixes for DEFCONST behaviour, GC and QUIT support in SBCL, and some other minor issues. Updated readme and added a manual-page. cl-partition_20010609.dsc This is a distribution of the reference implementation of partition (see posts on comp.lang.lisp). The exact behaviour has not been finalized yet (again, see c.l.l passim) but it is being distributed so that people can try it and offer feedback. cl-xptest_0.1-4.dsc More documentation, and a man page. common-lisp-controller_1.6.3.dsc Bugfixes for better SBCL support langband_0.0.11-6.dsc Moved around some files and made a virtual package langband-variant. sbcl_0.6.12.21-5.dsc New upstream snapshot with several pathname-related and other bugs fixed ----cut here---- -- http://ww.telent.net/cliki/ - Link farm for free CL-on-Unix resources |
