Hi all, I am new to using Cacti tool. I have gone through the documentation of the cacti tool and gone through the installation procedure of the cacti tool. In the installation procedure they have mentioned that mysql is a prerequisite to install the tool. I have read the manual cacti tool from that what is come to know is mysql database is only used for data storing and for round robin archive and the tool reads the data from the database and display it on the graph. So, what i feel is that instead of going for mysql database my own external scripts write the output to a file and can i able to read the file from cacti tool instead of reading database so that file itself is enough instead of mysql databse. Can i able to do this tool installation without mysql database and implement it with a file. Please some one in this group suggest me how to install the tool with out mysql is it possible or not.
