Bugs item #1110906, was opened at 2005-01-27 13:00 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=103248&aid=1110906&group_id=3248 Category: BZFS Group: Platform problems Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Jason Mader (jasonmader) Assigned to: Tim Riker (timriker) Summary: Irix MIPSpro compile instructions Initial Comment: README.IRIX instructs: # to use the MIPSPro compiler ./configure CC="cc" CXX="CC" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -OPT: Olimit=32768 -DEFAULT:abi=o32:isa=mips3:proc=r5k -LANG:std -F:template_in_ elf_section -no_auto_include -ptused -prelink" CFLAGS="-O2 -OPT: Olimit=32768 -DEFAULT:abi=o32:isa=mips3:proc=r5k -LANG:std -no_autoinclude -ptused -prelink" This has several problems: the passing of the variables, and mistakes in the compiler flags. The instructions should rather say, env CC="cc" CXX="CC" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -LANG:std -FE: template_in_elf_section -ptused -prelink" CFLAGS="-O2 -LANG: std" ./configure key changes are, - use of env - correction of -FE: (-F: is just wrong) - and the use of C++ only flags in the CXXFLAGS and not in CFLAGS where they are meaningless - remove use of Olimit, there is no problem of exceeding optimization limits with modern MIPSpro compiler and bzflag2. An additional suggestion would be to add the CXXFLAG "-woff 3303" because there are hundreds warnings for "A type qualifier on a return type is meaningless." ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=103248&aid=1110906&group_id=3248 |
