hi, i downloaded bzflag and love it. i found the mouse impossible to use so back-ported the SDL code to 1.10 (latest stable release) i sent it to tim riker because he's the debian maintainer. also i like the idea of flying vehicles so i have split latest cvs to be able to add different vehicles (base class LocalPlayer). first new vehicle, a rather badly flying ... mmm ... brick. there are a number of limitations of the source code that make adding flying vehicles quite tricky 1) assumption of angular velocity rotating only around z-axis makes horizon dead-level etc. 2) assumption that vehicles will not go above a certain altitude. 3) assumption that vehicles will not tip up / over such that building collision is only checked on the "level". if i assume some sort of mag-lev or anti-grav flying vehicle instead of jet or propellor i could get away with increasing the maximum height+fudge-factor to not auto-kick players. comments? l. -- -- expecting email to be received and understood is a bit like picking up the telephone and immediately dialing without checking for a dial-tone; speaking immediately without listening for either an answer or ring-tone; hanging up immediately and believing that you have actually started a conversation. -- lkcl.net
lk...@lk...
|
