Just a brief notice to let you know that 1) student applications opened today and 2) we posted a few more project ideas to our wiki: http://brlcad.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code/Project_Ideas Three of the new ideas are specific code cleanup projects, so that may be more appealing and specific than the general "code reduction" project some of you have expressed an interest in. Please note that GSoC has an absolute zero-tolerance for late submissions, so do not submit late. Every year, there are dozens of kids crying because they didn't hit submit before the deadline due to timezones or their dog dying or whatever. It's better to submit early and then keep working on it, just so you're submission is technically in and you don't miss the deadline. Just indicate which portions of your application are incomplete. You can keep editing all the way up to the submission deadline. Time is running out for those of you that have yet to introduce yourselves! We're looking to accept a lot of students this year, but it won't likely be your application if we never hear from you. Cheers! Sean |
