They look like the "old fashioned" suffix rules that the GNU Make manual says doesn't treat dependencies as such. Maybe I'm misreading it, but that seemed to be the case with why the xml catolog file wasn't being generated in my Makefile.am. Is the .NOTPARALLEL target non-standard? I don't get any warnings.
