That's bizzare. The /bin/sh^M makes it sound like you maybe did a checkout on Windows and copied the sources to another system? Basically, if you did that, then your line endings are hosed and the shell cannot interpret the script correctly. Otherwise, you have something seriously wrong with your shell (or it's just not a posix/bourne/ksh-style shell). Cheers!
