Giffuni (giffunip) Assigned to: Sean Morrison (brlcad) Summary: WARNING: sys/mount.h: present but cannot be compiled Initial Comment: Hello; Configure reports a warning when building on FreeBSD 5.2.1-Release (configure log attached). Everything builds fine though. While here I should mention that URT can use X11/Xlibint.h but it is not being informed this header exists, On Xfree86 there is no X11/copyright.h so the include would have to be removed on get/getx11/XGetHClrs.c cheers, Pedro. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sean Morrison (brlcad) Date: 2005-02-28 06:05 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=785737 Even with this being a specific system header bug, I went ahead and made a work-arounds that should make the header check pass. The problem looked to specifically be that sys/mount.h included sys/ucred.h which erroneously uses NGROUPS without including sys/param.h. At least that looks to be the problem on 5.2.1. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Pedro F. Giffuni (giffunip) Date: 2005-01-27 18:39 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=678384 Ugfh...I actually took that header from a 5.0 live CD i had handy: i hadn't expected it to be too modified. In any case you are right: I just reported this because configure ordered me ;) but there is no ill effect on the build. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sean Morrison (brlcad) Date: 2005-01-27 07:11 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=785737 To date, this has always been a problem in the header itself. There's nothing BRL-CAD is doing to cause the problem nor is it being used in a peculiar manner. It just means that that header cannot be used by itself. This is actually the case on a couple of platforms for very specific headers. Often the header itself is probably missing some other necessary header (like sys/types.h for example), i.e. it's a header bug. Another common example is one of the headers usually fail with the same error on irix .. looking into the file, they used "bool" as a parameter _name_ in a function declaration.. That, of course, doesn't sit well with a c99 compliant compiler to see "int bool" as a type. Not to worry, the failure is nothing to worry about at all and can be safely ignored. Best would otherwise be to not check that header on your system, though I have a 5.2.1 fbsd and it seems to be fine (though our headers are different). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Pedro F. Giffuni (giffunip) Date: 2005-01-26 20:41 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=678384 I thought it might be a good idea to attach FreeBSD 5.x sys/mount.h. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=640802&aid=1109930&group_id=105292 |
