Hi, I run openSUSE 10.3 which comes with a predefined openSUSE Bootsplash which= =20 works fine. Also other downloaded themes work after copying them=20 to /etc/boothsplash/themes, pointing to them in /etc/sysconfig/bootsplash a= nd=20 running mkinitrd. So it is obvious that splashing in general is working with 1280x800=20 resolution, the right params is passed in Grub (vga=3D794 splash=3Dsilent). But I somehow fail in creating my own theme. I started by copying a working= =20 theme, made JPGs of my own in the correct resolution and saved them=20 uncompressed with 2x1-1x1-1x1 encoding in GIMP. Then I wrote this config file: =2D------- version=3D3 state=3D1 progress_enable=3D1 fgcolor=3D7 bgcolor=3D0 tx=3D50 ty=3D50 tw=3D1180 th=3D924 jpeg=3D/etc/bootsplash/themes/XPS/images/bootsplash-1280x1024.jpg silentjpeg=3D/etc/bootsplash/themes/XPS/images/silent-1280x1024.jpg #progress bar bg box silent noover 386 751 894 769 #131313 #progress bar initial state box silent inter 386 751 386 769 #222222 #888888 #222222 #888888 #progress bar final state box silent 386 751 894 769 #222222 #888888 #222222 #888888 #progress bar borders box silent 386 750 894 750 #aaaaaa box silent 386 770 894 770 #aaaaaa box silent 385 750 385 770 #aaaaaa box silent 895 750 895 770 #aaaaaa overpaintok=3D1 =2D------- This seems quite valid to me and obviously, installing works because mkinit= rd=20 brings up no more errors (it did in first place when I had typos in the JPG= =20 paths) and tells correctly the name of the theme and my chosen resolution: Bootsplash: XPS (1280x1024). But after a reboot, no splash is shown and the system comes up with the rig= ht=20 resolution (1280x800) but in text-mode. dmsg even shows that i splash had=20 been displayed (bootsplash: silet mode). Now I am somewhat without any clue. Can anybody help? Greets, Andreas =2D-=20 http://www.andreas-demmer.de |
