Tweaking of registry settings is not recommended as the administration guide says. * Use a tool like iconv to recode your shapefile (I assume it is WINDOWS-1256 encoded, please confirm) to ISO8859-6. If this would be PostgreSQL, recoding could be done on the fly by simply setting the PGCLIENTENCODING environment variable. However, I'm not aware of such an option for ORACLE. Please indicate which approach you prefer. Does this problem also apply to your production system? I hope that at least there the recommendation from the administration guide was implemented. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: abdulqader jaradat (jaradat_abed) Date: 2006-07-10 10:24 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=697097 Ahmad regarding this problem you should drop the oracle database and re-create it with ar8mswin1256 character set. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=533723&aid=1519870&group_id=72204 |
