Hi All, I've placed a blue.jar file at: http://www.kunstmusik.com/blue.jar This contains most of the changes I have planned for 0.107.0 (even though the program will say 0.106.0). To use, just copy over the blue.jar in blue/lib folder (make a copy of the old one if you want to revert). What I am most particularly interested in is if users could try dowloading this and running it to try out the ProgramOptions and see if the [...] buttons for audio in/out and midi in/out work to auto-discover what devices are available for the selected audio or midi driver. I have tested on Linux and Windows but could not get the OSX version of Csound installed (somehow corrupted, will try to find another version) so could only code for coreaudio and using the coreaudio driver source code as a reference. What is implemented: Audio: PortAudio (pa, pa_bl, pa_cb) WinMME ALSA CoreAudio MIDI: PortMidi WinMME For Alsa audio, I read /proc/asound/pcm to get card info, but I don't know what I am supposed to read for discovering midi ports (if anyone knows, I'd appreciate it!). Otherwise, users can always type in what they want, which actually seems rather normal for Linux Alsa MIDI users I guess. I'm having problems with figuring out a way to discover Jack Clients, but maybe this should also just be something users type in. (?) If everyone who has a free moment could give this a try on all the platforms and report anything, I'd really very much appreciate it. I think this feature will really make setting up Csound and blue very, very easy. Any feedback and suggestions very much appreciated! Thanks, steven |
