Hi All, I've posted a prototype of the zak instruments system I've been working on at: http://www.kunstmusik.com/blueCommon.zip Just a start really, but beginning to flesh out. I think it's going to take some time with paper and pencil for me to work out all the routing possibilities and some research of some mixing consoles and other composition environments to see what the consensus solution is. Tricky part I think is csound's processing of instruments by instrument number, so may have to auto generate a number of instruments to recapture values for further mixing after sending out from the individual lines. Anyways, the attached file has a couple copies of Michael Bechard's FM instrument, sending out to different sets of zak channels. It's also got a template instrument sine wave generator. Of those, they are hooked up to the zak mixer, then channels 1 & 2 go through an echo and reverb. The zak values are all collected in the end and mixed together. There's issues here witih how to go about a global reverb and other effects processing. Any critique and suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I would like to formalize a sort of "type 1" system of instrument designs that could easily work together like this, such that it could be easier to trade and just snap in instruments into projects quicker. Thanks! steven |
