Hi (mostly Steven) I converted one of my new projects to use the API. It renders just fine in realtime "the old way" but with the API I get glitches in the audio. The project is not using more than 30% cpu. I'm wondering what I should look for or change in my setup that can be the cause of this? I'm under linux with a realtime kernel. The system normally performs well in realtime with my other software. Note: Normally I use -b128 -B256, but even with -b512 -B1024 the glitches are there. Note2: This is all using ALSA. I actually wanted to use jack, but there seems to be a problem (as far as I can see) with the API not disconnecting from jack, resulting in the second render fails since the client names are still in use. Or something like that. At least I always get this fail on second render regarding csound not able to connect to jack. All this to say that it would be interesting to try the API with jack to see if that performs better... The two versions of the project (first running without, second with the API) are here, in case anyone would like to try them: http://atte.dk/download/pause_signal1.blue http://atte.dk/download/pause_signal1_api.blue -- Atte http://atte.dk http://modlys.dk |
