You're right, David....There's no good, rock-solid way to auto-detect. The best way is to use a config file which would include: Network device name (such as dtiB1T1) Protocol string (as used by gc_Open) Voice Resource device name (if needed by protocol - CAS and analog, specifically) To keep the config file length manageable, you *could* use the board-level device name (such as dtiB1), protocol, etc., since you'll almost always be using the same protocol on all channels of a board (logical span, actually).
