I'm sorry Matt, but I disagree. I don't think it's asking very much to be able to put a short notification on the basket site about Sebastien's new project. After all, he did create the program in the first place. Furthermore, I think doing so helps US out in a few ways: 1. A lot of people seem to think that BasKet is dead and that development has stopped. This is especially challenging given how long it has been since a full-blown point release. The recent beta should help some -- if anyone notices it. The best solution is to get BasKet to a point where we can release 2.0 and then come up with a regular release schedule that distributions can depend on. However, we can also help dispell the myth by making the web site more active. Adding something to the web site (even if it's not directly basket related) shows that we are at least maintaining the web site. 2. One of our biggest challenges right now is growing our user base and (especially) our developer base. A lot of people have kind of written us off. If Sebastien is willing to reciprocate by putting a link to the basket page from his snaky web site, we could gain a lot more visibility. Snaky seems to be a VERY well done game (good job, Sebastien!) and I think it's very reasonable to believe that it will attract a lot of users. My 2 cents, Robert |
