BarcR UPC Code Reader / News: Recent posts

At the suggestion of a user, I am attempting to modify the program to work with screen reading software to aid the visually impaired. Currently I cannot continue without the assistance of the authors of a screen reading package, as I do not know how to tell their application to read my text. Contact information for a willing screen reader developer would be greatly appreciated if anyone has them.

A major improvement has been published to cvs and a new binary released. I'm going to continue to work on the code to get a valid read much sooner and also to clean it up. Once the code is able to read a valid code within several clear frames, I will release it.

The crashing problem has been fixed in CVS. It was done by increasing the timeout significantly. I think the captures were overlapping, but with the new timeout it still takes images every 2-3s despite the timeout being around 10 seconds. This needs some more investigation or a full rewrite.
