Hello, Recently some of you were having problems changing permissions and ownership on Win32 machines. There seems to be a lot of software out there that will do this, and if I am not mistaken, some of it is referenced in the manual. However, I never found anything that I really liked, until now. A user (Nobody/Anonymous) posted a request on Source Forge to integrate SetACL code from SetACL into Bacula or to have file by file scripting capabilities. I'm not convinced that integrating SetACL is necessary since in general Bacula should now save and restore permissions correctly. However, having a command line tool to tweak permissions and ownership would be extremely useful. If you need such a capability, I suggest you take a look at: http://setacl.sourceforge.net/ If you like it (or don't) please give me your feedback. This program might be useful enough to put it in the /bacula/bin directory on the release. Best regards, Kern |
