I have copied the bacula-devel list and the bacula-devel-fr lists. And any help you could be would be very much appreciated. What is going on is the following: 1. There is a translation of the source code messages in to French, which is in progress (a big task). Eric Bollengier <eric at eb dot homelinux dot org> is doing the work. 2. There is a translation of the manual into french, which is in progress, but this is an *enormous* task. The work is being done by Ludovic Strappazon <strappaz.backup at laposte dot net> 3. There are a good number of French users -- see the messages on the bacula-users list. One thing that might be helpful would be a translation of the web site into French. At least it would be a first step, and I will be very happy to modify the Bacula web site to support a French (or any other foreign language) version. No one is working on translating the web site to French at the moment. I would suggest that the French web site be at www.bacula.org/fr ... and that we put a "flag" icon link to it on the main www.bacula.org page. If we create a French web site, someone other than me would need to be in charge of it. That person could have developer CVS access to be able to update the CVS. Then it is just a matter of informing me that you have made changes (I will probably see them in the commits) and I will upload the new pages. At some point, if we have a lot of changes and/or a lot of languages, I will delegate out uploading the various language versions to different people responsible for maintaining the language version in the CVS. The news list is probably bacula-devel-fr, which is mostly in French but not terribly active at the moment. However, you are free to create other ones. I think an IRC bacula-fr would be a good idea, but I will leave that to users who are interested such as you. I would be very happy to see any such effort take place. Thanks for your interest in Bacula, Kern |
