Actually, on a related question, is there any valid reason why the passwords created at installation time are stored as what look like MD5 hashes? If anyone can get access to the files, they can copy the hashes just as easily as a cleartext password. My /opt/bacula install tree is readable only by root anyway ... is there a good reason why I shouldn't use plain cleartext passwords in the Bacula config files? In the absence of ability to paste between Unix and Windows, this would ease getting the passwords set up right. -- .********* Fight Back!
