A NOTE has been added to this issue. ====================================================================== http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1065 ====================================================================== Reported By: acecile Assigned To: ====================================================================== Project: bacula Issue ID: 1065 Category: wx-console Reproducibility: always Severity: major Priority: normal Status: feedback ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 03-17-2008 13:41 UTC Last Modified: 03-22-2008 10:30 UTC ====================================================================== Summary: WX-console crash a last step when using restore tab Description: Hello, It seems the WX console (windows) doesn't work at all with bacula 2.2.8 (probably a parsing issue). Step to reproduce: 1. Go to the restore tab 2. Select a job 3. Select somes files to restore 4. Accept default settings => Everything goes fine Now do 1,2,3 again and try to change something (like restore path). Client and Storage are not found anymore, when clicking apply the console crash. I noticed the console doesn't crash anymore if I defined two clients and two storages (however they are still empty by default). In that case you can select the right client and storage and click apply. Now crash, but the "restore" button keeps being disabled, so you can't launch the restore. It doesn't seem to appear with Debian 2.2.8 bacula wx-console. Please find attached some bacula server conf file used to reproduce quickly the bug. Best regards, Adam. ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kern - 03-18-08 09:30 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The problem indeed seems to be that wxWidgets is not very portable in that the behavior of the code differs rather significantly under Linux and Win32. I have "kludged" the code so that it appears to more or less handle Win32 correctly. Since the code is rather complicated C++ without comments, I cannot be 100% certain other than to say, it has resolved the problem I could reproduce. Please test the following binary and let me know: http://www.bacula.org/downloads/winbacula-2.2.9.exe and http://www.bacula.org/downloads/winbacula-2.2.9.exe.sig Note the site does not permit listing the directory, so you must explicitly ask for each file you want. This is a *beta* version and should not be considered an official 2.2.9 release. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bobhetzel - 03-19-08 22:49 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- As I'm having a problem backing up some computers using bacula, I figured I'd try this beta version. In the 2.2.8 version backups would die very deep into the process with many files having been backed up. In case you didn't already know, the beta 2.2.9 version you wrote about can't seem to back up anything on that one. Here's the message that gets logged in bconsole... 19-Mar 18:37 casemed JobId 11954: Could not stat C:/: ERR=The system cannot find the file specified. Likewise for D:/ If this isn't something you know about already, I'd be happy to do whatever I can to debug this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kern - 03-20-08 17:33 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bobhetzel: Your problem is not related to this bug, and as far as I can tell, it is more likely a support problem. I recommend that you read www.bacula.org -> Support and if after reviewing your problem with the list they think it is a bug, then read www.bacula.org -> Bug Reports and open a new bug with the appropriate information. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kern - 03-22-08 10:30 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I have posted the most recent version of the win32 Bacula binaries to the site as noted by my previous bug note. I would appreciate it if you would test it as this is the BETA candidate for 2.2.9.
