It happened to me, too. The default mtx-changer-script skipps the "eject" from the drive and = just controls the picker to get the tape. But if it is not ejected, the picker will time out waiting for the tape = to come out. Scroll into your mtx-changer script to the part where the unload = parameter is matched (~ line 97). "enable the following line if you need to eject the cartridge" # mt -f /dev/st0 offline You should enable this line by removing the #. But be sure to use the correct device.
