This mostly pertains to the assorted registry hives that Windows uses... But Microsoft got smart, and it obsessively makes backups, so you'll be fine on a full restore. OTOH, I'm no Exchange admin, but I have the understanding that exchange stores it's mail in database files that stay open; the only solution I've heard of is to down the exchange server. Maybe someone can chime in here... there *should* be an exchange utility that makes backups in a manner like SQL server, but it sounds like there isn't. One suggestion I've seen that covers the registry files is to schedule an ntbackup of system state to a file, which can then be backed up by bacula. -- Matt Howard <mh...@si...> Superior Insurance - Technical Services |
