I have a problem trying to configure a Bacula on a Seagate Scorpio 40Gb SCSI Tape on a Red Hat system... First, I need to check if my tape will be supported... and i got this error.. root@smb bacula]# /sbin/btape -d 10 -c /etc/bacula/bacula-sd.conf DDS-4 Tape block granularity is 1024 bytes. btape: butil.c:146 Could not find device DDS-4 in config file /etc/bacula/bacula-sd.conf. btape: btape Fatal error: butil.c:96 Cannot find device DDS-4 in config file /etc/bacula/bacula-sd.conf. [root@smb bacula]# here is my conf Storage { # definition of myself Name = smb-sd SDPort = 9103 # Director's port WorkingDirectory = "/etc/bacula/working" Pid Directory = "/var/run" } # # List Directors who are permitted to contact Storage daemon # Director { Name = smb-dir Password = "S6LfRoVBPNf6nyF3R7SpO8DiiE9ARINPNQsN3zRQZ/7F" } # # Devices supported by this Storage daemon # To connect, the Director's bacula-dir.conf must have the # same Name and MediaType. # Device { Name = FileStorage Media Type = File Archive Device = /tmp LabelMedia = yes; # lets Bacula label unlabeled media Random Access = Yes; AutomaticMount = yes; # when device opened, read it RemovableMedia = no; AlwaysOpen = no; } Device { Name = DDS-4 # Media Type = "DDS-4" Archive Device = /dev/nst0 AutomaticMount = yes; # when device opened, read it AlwaysOpen = yes; RemovableMedia = yes; RandomAccess = no; } I tried with Archive Device = /dev/st0 same result The tape is detected by the kernel (scsi0:A:2): 80.000MB/s transfers (40.000MHz, offset 63, 16bit) Vendor: SEAGATE Model: DAT 9SP40-000 Rev: 9100 Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 03 Any clues to know if Bacula will support the device?
