Is it my understanding that it notifies a user when it has never backed up or when it's been a while since the last backup. I have mine set to 14 days. After that it notifies a user that it's been a while and to make sure to connect to the network. I have a custom script setup to allow daily notification to the end user when a backup completed successfully and to send email's to the administrators when a serious error has occured. I use BackupPC's variables in my script to decide what is/isn't critical and act accordingly. The command line program that I use to send the emails is called Postie. Doug E.
