Craig, yes. the path for rsync on client is correct. My backuppc user and rsync user is root, so I run the command you mentioned and nothing happened. I have set RsyncdAuthRequired to 0 and it shouldn't be any authentication during rsync, but it still prompted "Connection reset by peer'. Another question. Do we need to create a rsyncd.conf file in host pc? I have done that also, but still it prompted "Connection reset by peer' and the rsyncd.log is empty. Really wondering why rsync is not working on linux clients. For windows clients, rsyncd is working good. Message: 2 To: Tho Kee Thai <kt...@sh...> cc: bac...@li... What happens when you run the ssh command manually, eg: su backuppc /usr/bin/ssh -q -x -l root kevin /usr/bin/rsync --server --sender --numeric-ids --perms --owner --group --devices --links --times --block-size=2048 --recursive --exclude=/proc --exclude=/var/spool/squid --exclude=/slocate.db --ignore-times . /home/ Craig |
