Rsync has 2 advantages.  One is the reduced bandwidth for backups after
the first full, the other is that it will pick up old files in their
new location under a renamed directory even in an incremental run.
The RAM needed to hold the directory copy while rsync compares files
may be more of a problem than the cpu usage, though.
