Did you change rsync's command-line options in > backuppc's config.pl to take into consideration hardlinks? I use this: $Conf{RsyncArgs} = [ '--numeric-ids', '--perms', '--owner', '--group', '--devices', '--links', '--times', '--block-size=2048', '--recursive', '--exclude', '/proc', '--exclude', '/sys', '--exclude', '/tmp', '--exclude', '/var/cache/apt', '--exclude', '/var/lib/mysql/', '--exclude', '/var/tmp/', ]; > > There is only 400GB Backupspace in use and there is roundabout 1000GB free. > > > > So, I would like to add some more servers to backup, > > if the CPU let me. ;) > > So, I dont want to buy a DUAL-Athlon or XEON, if the new cpus is not > > enough for me the next 1000GB. > > > > Maybe 1400GB are a little bit to much for currently CPUs for backup? > > I have to acknowledge that your setup is quite extreme. The biggest need for > us uptodate was 400G so I don't have experience with more. Yes, it is a 2U-Server with 8 SATA-ports. So, when I plan the server I tought it was good, to use all ports. And I think it was no really "bad" idea.. And 3 months ago, the 200GB-SATA-HDDs had a good GB/price limit. So, I have now this system.
