Hi Wes, My knowledge is a bit limited, but I can speak a bit from experience. It seems that the exact syntax, limitations, etc of the exclude feature = are somewhat dependent on your transfer method, but I don't think you would = have any problems with an exclusion like *.xxx. I've had very good luck with wildcards, and have been able to implement similar exclusions with smb, rysnc, rysncd, and tar. Just be aware the these exclusions may be case sensitive, so you might want to include both *.wav and *.WAV.... Also note that any per-pc conf file settings will override the config.pl setting (maybe there is a way to get them to merge?). And with smb, you cannot define BOTH $Conf{BackupFilesExclude} along with $Conf{BackupFilesInclude} As far as your other question, I can't see any reason why you could not = copy config files across (assuming you server/network setup was the same). = But maybe I am missing something about your question. Cheers, Ryan =20 > -----Original Message----- > From: bac...@li...=20 > [mailto:bac...@li...] On Behalf=20 > Of Wes Mauer > Sent: 09 February 2005 06:44 PM > To: bac...@li... > Subject: [BackupPC-users] Config.pl and Exclusion questions >=20 >=20 > Two quick questions: > 1.
