client is running windows 2003 server. server is running FreeBSD 5.2.1 Once in a blue moon, backup is successful, 99% of the time, it fails miserably and I do not know where to begin to fix. Just now, I tried the manual command: $ /home/backuppc/bin/BackupPC_dump -v -i van-dir.com After about 1/2 hour of copying files, I encountered a zillion lines of: Can't write 101470 bytes to socket Can't write 101486 bytes to socket Can't write 101502 bytes to socket Can't write 101518 bytes to socket Can't write 101534 bytes to socket Can't write 101550 bytes to socket Can't write 101566 bytes to socket Can't write 101582 bytes to socket then finally, Child is aborting Can't write 107720 bytes to socket Parent read EOF from child: fatal error!
