We're currently getting out of memory errors when
running AWStats. The instance we're collecting metrics
on has been running fine for almost 2 years with
version 6.2 and I've tried versions all the way up to
6.6. The script will run for a while without issues
then output a "out of memory" error. We're running on
AIX 5.2 with perl 5.8 and haven't made any server
changes.

The temp file looks like this:

.tmp.733402.bis

The last successful run left the data file at around
22MB.

If I run the single log file without any previous data
in the data file, it runs fine... So I'm wondering if
there isn't an issue with the amount of data in the
actual file (although I do have previous files that
are around 45MB for a month that worked fine.)

The log files are fine as I mentioned earlier, I can
run just that one log file in a temp config and it
loads completely.

That leads me to think that it's not an OS out of
memory error per se - but something about how the
script is flushing certain data to the monthly data
temp file...

Thoughts?

Thanks,

_DS
