That indicates to me that it is using the internal RC oscillator at 1 MHz rather than the external crystal at 8 MHz. You need to set the fuse bits for CLKSEL=1011 (fast rising, external crystal oscillator) rather than the default internal RC oscillator. > $ERPNI This means that there is no magnetometer hooked up.
