This is roughly the strategy I chose when it comes to loading of external DTDs: first try to do a "regular parse" (as it can have a big impact on the resulting XML parse tree) and fall-back to parsing without loading external DTDs when this gives problems. Unfortunately, in case of external DTDs, you need to use parser implementation-specific properties (if available), but everyone using the Sun JRE is probably on the safe side. Apparently we need to do something similar for handling these entities (no experience with them yet). Can you send me a sample XML file demonstrating the problem? Chris -- |
