[Apcupsd-users] How to set up apcupsd with USB/RS-232 adapter

Hi,

I am attempting to connect APC UPS 1400 with an RS-232 port to a computer with 
USB ports only using Keyspan USB/Serial Adapter USA 19HS. From the apcupsd 
documentation and mailing list, it appears that the config file should have 
UPSCABLE smart
UPSTYPE apcsmart
DEVICE /dev/ttyUSB0

However, apctest reports:

What is the "Unknown mode.type: 11"? Can I debug this somehow or is the 
adapter simply not compatible?

I should note that the UPS used to work with the current configuration when 
plugged into an RS232 port (obviously the DEVICE was different).
