I found the problem.. it was my razor agent. I found the log in /root/.razor and it complained Of not being able to contact the internet and was basically looping. This mailhost has restricted outbound access Once I disabled the razor agent it is working fine. I was able to turn it off by adding this line to /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf: use_razor2 0 its working MUCH better now. As an aside, does anyone know how to make razor use a squid proxy to = access the internet instead? I hope this helps others. It appears so, = what would be my next step? If there are 4 child processes, the other 3 continue working but one of = them Stops processing mail and the last line in the debug log for that = process is CALLING SA check.. Eventually the system runs out of virtual memory and all the mail stops.
