Hi All, SpamAssassin 3.1 will feature a new "apache" style preforking model that should allow it to use less memory overall. Rather than maintaining a fixed number of children it will maintain a pool of children that can grow (and shrink) as necessary. There are patches here: http://bugzilla.spamassassin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3983 Anyone know whether amavisd-new will play nicely with a SpamAssassin 3.0.2 system that has had these patches applied? I have several systems running spamd or amavisd-new, they could all benefit from a more graceful use of RAM! Ben |
