Hi, we are running amavisd 0.1 on Linux 2.4.18 with Sendmail 8.12.9. If a mail is addressed to an unknown user, the mail gets stuck in the queue and the sender receives bounces as long as the mail is not removed from the queue. Output of mailq: --- /var/spool/mqamavis (1 request) -----Q-ID----- --Size-- -----Q-Time----- ------------Sender/Recipient--- -------- xxxxxxxxxxxxxx 354 Tue Apr 29 16:38 <xx...@xx...> (Deferred: amavis mailer (/usr/sbin/amavis) exited with EX_TE) <xx...@xx...> --- From /var/amavis/amavis.log (log level 4): --- Apr 29 16:38:26 xxx amavisd[xxx]: do_exit:456 - ending execution with 67 --- With the attached patch applied, amavis returns 0 (EX_OK) in the case that sendmail returned 67 (EX_NOUSER - addressee unknown) or 68 (EX_NOHOST - host name unknown). The bounce is delivered to the sender anyway, but the mail is removed from the queue. Best regards, Nils Durner PROJEKT Computersysteme GmbH |
