I'm trying to install alsa0.9.0 beta5 on my Debian/testing system. I'm using kernel 2.2.17, and installed the alsa*.deb packages from debian/testing apt-sources. The alsa-driver I've compiled myself. My soundcard is the SB Live 1024 Value. Now the problem: After finishing alsaconf I get the following: Starting ALSA sound driver (version 0.9.0beta5): (emu10k1) Setting the PCM volume to 100% and the Master output volume to 50% amixer: Mixer attach hw:0 error: No such file or directory Could not initialize the mixer, the card was probably not detected correctly. lsmod reveals that all modules are loaded. The dev-files are made and have the right types, eg. : crw-rw---- 1 root audio 14, 12 Jul 16 16:21 /dev/adsp0 crw-rw---- 1 root audio 14, 3 Jul 16 16:21 /dev/dsp0 When starting esd with alsasupport it doesn't work; here is a strace return: ... open("/dev/aloadC0", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOSYS (Function not implemented) open("/dev/aloadC0", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOSYS (Function not implemented) open("/dev/aloadC0", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENODEV (No such device) open("/dev/snd/controlC0", O_RDWR) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) write(2, "amixer: ", 8amixer: ) = 8 write(2, "Mixer attach hw:0 error: No such"..., 50Mixer attach hw:0 error: No such file or directory) = 50 Any suggestions as to what the problem is??? -- This sentance is false. |
