No chance to fix that module? It can "see" my card, the proof (beside the already mentioned ones) is: #v+ $ ls -la /proc/asound dr-xr-xr-x 5 root root 0 lut 7 14:48 . dr-xr-xr-x 77 root root 0 lut 7 11:20 .. dr-xr-xr-x 4 root root 0 lut 7 14:48 card0 -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 lut 7 14:48 cards -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 lut 7 14:48 devices lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 5 lut 7 14:48 ES1868 -> card0 -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 lut 7 14:48 hwdep -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 lut 7 14:48 modules dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 0 lut 7 14:48 oss -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 lut 7 14:48 pcm dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 0 lut 7 14:48 seq -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 lut 7 14:48 timers -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 lut 7 14:48 version #v- The card was usable without any problems under 2.4.x kernels, using modules isa-pnp & sb. It's "seen" by the software - unfortunately, it just gives no audio output (but it seems, it takes input, f.e. from microphone). Perhaps there's just additional "switch" inside, that need to be activated (Maxi Sound 64 Home Studio 2 is a bit more complicated, than typical "el cheapo" ES1868-based cards, it has f.e. both "front" and "surround" outputs)? -- pozdrawiam / regards Zbigniew Baniewski |
