The sound on my Gateway MT6821 laptop only works on boot when Alsamixer shows two options "Master and PCM" but sometimes it shows three options instead "Master PCM and SPDIF". When it shows all three options on a reboot my sound doesn't work on my laptop computer speakers or headphones (jack). lsmod | grep hda snd_hda_intel 17332 1 snd_hda_codec 137856 1 snd_hda_intel snd_pcm 68676 3 snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec,snd_pcm_oss snd 47012 8 snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_pcm,snd_timer snd_page_alloc 9640 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm lsmod | grep oss snd_pcm_oss 38368 0 snd_mixer_oss 15200 1 snd_pcm_oss aplay -l **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: HDA Generic [HDA Generic] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 lspci -vv -s 00:1b.0 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02) Subsystem: Gateway 2000 Unknown device 0366 Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR+ FastB2B- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- Latency: 0, Cache Line Size: 64 bytes Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 177 Region 0: Memory at d8240000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K] Capabilities: <access denied> /proc/asound$ cat devices 0: [ 0] : control 16: [ 0- 0]: digital audio playback 24: [ 0- 0]: digital audio capture 33: : timer Any ideas before I file a bug report ? |
