[Alsa-user] SigmaTel STAC9750 microphone question

Hi,

I'd like to buy a notebook Inspiron 6400 with the SigmaTel STAC9750 sound card.
I would like to install ubuntu feisty fawn when it will be released
this month (7.04).

I have read on forums that the microphone is not working, for example here:

but since the post is quite old, I'd like to know if it works now.

I was not able to find on google its chipset, so I do not know what to
search in the soundcard matrix.

Any help would be appreciated!
